The Future of Lash Lifting: Redefining Lash Lifts with the Korean Technique

The Korean Lash Lift is an advanced technique that has become the solution for the industry's most challenging lash types: downward-growing and stubborn lashes. This method leverages the gentle power of the Cysteamine Hydrochloride (CHC)-based system, combined with a unique softening and reshaping process.

The Technique

Unlike traditional lash lifts, the Korean Lash Lift focuses on retraining the lash from root to tip through a controlled, multi-step process. Powered by Elleebana’s CHC-based Profusion system, this technique prioritizes lash health while delivering exceptional lift and definition.

Step 1:

The goal here is to relax and stretch the lashes upward against gravity before setting the final curl.

  • Product: Elleeplex Profusion Lift Lotion (Step 1) is mixed with Elleemix Powder (Viscosity Controller). This creates a thick, paste-like consistency. The viscosity controller is essential as it prevents the lotion from migrating and helps hold the lashes against the shield without relying on glue.

  • Shield: A flat silicone shield is placed just above the lash line.

  • Application: The thickened Step 1 lotion is applied from root to tip. Lashes are gently swept and held upward onto the flat shield.

  • Enhancing Softening: Cling film is applied over the lashes. This maintains pressure and traps gentle heat, which is particularly effective for breaking down the strong bonds in thick, coarse lashes and accelerating the softening process.

  • Assessment: Midway through and near the end of processing, perform a flex check. Lashes must be fully relaxed (like a spaghetti noodle) before moving to the next stage. Note: Fine tips may need solution removed earlier to avoid over-processing.

Step 2:

Once the internal lash bonds are softened, the lashes are pliable and ready to be reshaped.

  • Transition: Remove the flat shield and Step 1 solution completely. Immediately place the chosen tool that best suits your client’s lashes , rods give more curl, while shields create a stronger lift. This step shapes the final look of the lash.

  • Wrapping: The pre-softened lashes now wrap onto the curved shield with minimal resistance, making the wrapping process hassle-free and highly precise.

  • Setting: Elleeplex Profusion Setting Lotion (Step 2) is applied, also mixed with a smaller ratio of Elleemix Powder. This locks the newly lifted shape into place.

  • Results: This technique results in a defined, long-lasting lift that maximizes the appearance of natural length.

Step 3:

  • Conditioning: After the setting stage, Elleebana ReGen Next Gen is applied to rehydrate, strengthen, and repair the lash structure. Packed with amino acids, peptides, and plant extracts, ReGen restores elasticity and shine — leaving lashes healthier and more resilient post-lift.

Client Suitability: Pros and Cons

This advanced method demands precision, patience, and a strong understanding of the products. It’s ideal for the most challenging lash types but may not suit every client.

Who is the Korean Method Ideal For?

Client Type Benefit of the Korean Method
Downward-Growing Lashes The initial upward-softening step is specifically designed to "retrain" these lashes, combining chemical relaxation with mechanical shaping.
Stubborn or Resistant Lashes The pre-softening on a flat shield and the use of cling film encourages deeper product penetration, lifting lashes resistant to traditional methods.
Thick, Coarse Lashes The CHC system with cling film generates gentle heat, encouraging the faster softening of the hair's compact cuticle structure.
Asian Eye Shapes Originally developed in Korea, this method is highly effective for clients who often have straight or downward-growing lashes that resist curling.

Who is the Korean Method Less Suitable For?

Client Type Reason
Weak or Fragile Lashes The extensive processing times, added heat, and pressure from the cling film may be too harsh, risking damage.
Naturally Curly Lashes The upturned softening step may lead to excessive curling or a strange bend due to the lashes' natural direction. A gentler Glueless or Freestyle Profusion technique may offer better control.
Clients Expecting a Fast Service This process requires more time and patience than the rapid processing of the Elleebana One Shot system.

Tips for Perfect Execution

  • Ratio is Key: The Elleemix ratio must be exact. Too much powder can slightly dilute the active ingredients, requiring longer processing times for thick lashes.

  • Flex and Set Checks: Always perform detailed flex and set checks (bending the lash down to assess recoil) on the inner, middle, and outer corners, as these sections soften and bond at different rates.

  • Precision is Critical: Because the thickened lotion is applied close to the lash line, steady hands and precision are necessary to avoid contact with the skin and potential irritation.
